La alfombra roja más SAGaz:

Definitivamente no gozan de la misma popularidad que los Oscars, nuestra querida Met Gala o los Grammy, pero los premios del Sindicato de Actores de la Pantalla (generalmente conocidos como SAG) celebrados el pasado domingo 27 de febrero también se merecen nuestra atención, y más concretamente su alfombra roja sobre la cual destacaron muchas estrellas con grandes estilismos. Si lo que buscáis es poder ver el evento en su totalidad podéis encontrar su retransmisión en HBO Max, Amazon Fire y Apple TV, aunque si no disponéis de acceso a ninguna de estas plataformas de pago siempre podéis indagar por las galerías de YouTube donde de seguro ya habrá sido colgada.

Como siempre, la velada ha tenido aspectos a su favor y otros que no favorecían su imagen, siendo el listado de celebridades encargadas de presentar y/o entregar los premios uno de los pros ( ¿Quién no se quedaría ensimismado viendo como Lady Gaga o Cate Blanchett reparten trofeos a la realeza cinematográfica?); mientras que a mi amateur parecer muchos de dichos galardones han ido a parar a las manos erróneas (creo que hablo por todos al expresar mi descontento con el hecho de que La Casa Gucci, Dune, Tick, Tick… Boom! Y No mires arriba salieran sin ascender de la categoría de nominados).

Tick, Tick… Boom!

Del mismo modo ha ocurrido con los atuendos presentados por los actores del momento, pues algunos eran dignos de admiración y otros, francamente, no deberían de haber visto la luz del día. Quizá si Jennifer Aniston y Brad Pitt se hubieran dado tan amigablemente de nuevo la mano al igual que sucedió en el 2020, el ambiente en el Baker Hanger del aeropuerto de Santa Monica (donde se lleva celebrando esta gala desde 1996) hubiese adoptado un ambiente más vigorizante. Aún sin apretones fraternales de ex matrimonios, Dolly Parton haciendo estallar al público en carcajadas, Betty White lanzando pícaros guiños sobre sus encuentros sexuales con ciertas personas en la audiencia o Winona Ryder rompiendo el internet con su montaña rusa de expresiones faciales a la par que su co estrella David Harbour da un sentido discurso de agradecimiento; es irrebatible el que los SAG siempre dan mucho que hablar.

Oponiéndome a mi habitual brutal criticismo durante este texto argumentativo me limitaré a dar a conocer mis cinco conjuntos favoritos de la velada, con la esperanza de no hundir más la mermada moral mundial tras los recientes belicosos acontecimientos. Y ya que estoy introduciendo cambios aprovecho para invertir mi acostumbrada costumbre de dejar lo mejor para final, así que… ¡Empecemos por la joya de la corona! Por fin ha despertado de su centenario ensueño la bella durmiente, dejando a un lado los vestidos que causan disputan entre hadas y las tiaras perdidas para lucir un nuevo look que grita “reina autosuficiente” en vez de “princesa que necesita ser salvada”. Así es que Elle Fanning nos ha presentado su faceta más moderna con un lujosos traje italiano de Gucci.

Es un pájaro, es un avión, es… ¡Spiderman! Bueno, realmente se llama Andrew Garfield y dejó las telarañas ocho años atrás para aventurarse a explorar su versatilidad actuando como joven cofundador de Facebook, un enfermo caritativo y un monje jesuita torturado (entre muchos otros) además de su excelente interpretación como escritor de teatro frustrado que le ha llevado a estar presente en los premios donde su carácter adaptativo se ha reflejado una vez más, esta vez en look de Saint Laurent.

Al igual que una buena joya (como las que ella misma lució la pasada noche del 27.02), Selena Gómez nunca se pasa de moda. Desde su primer encuentro con las cámaras cuando tenia apenas diez años en el programa infantil “Barney y sus amigos”, hasta su último debut televisivo junto a Steve Martin y Oliver Putnam “Solo asesinatos en el edificio” la joven actriz nos ha tenido totalmente inmersos gracias a su talento para conectar con el espectador, logrando sorprendernos de nuevo en los premios con un fabuloso vestido de Oscar de la Renta.

Por supuesto, quien jamás puede faltar en un análisis estilístico es Lady Gaga, quien en los pasados años ha dejado de pertenecer a la lista de “vestidos más extraños” a la de más elegantes (¡y chic!), la cantante-actriz-compositora-activista-bailarina-diseñadora-bailarina-productora (o la personificación de la multitarea) sustituyó el encaje de ternera por el empedrado de Armani Privé.

Llegando al término del artículo me veo obligado a escoger un último campeón en esta recapitulación de indumentaria lo cual me resulta devastador ya que tengo que dejar a un lado a Nicole Kidman, Hoyeon Jung, Cate Blanchett, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Hudgens y mi admirada Helen Mirren; para dejar sitio a la última reclutada del equipo Marvel: Hailee Steinfeld. Vestida en Miu Miu la actriz ha deslumbrado (literalmente) con su asombrosa naturalidad para fundir tendencia, con los reveladores recortes de su atuendo, junto a un regusto atemporal y pulcro.

No SAGgin in the red carpet:

They definitely don't enjoy the same popularity as the Oscars, our beloved Met Gala, or the Grammys, but the Screen Actors Guild Awards (often known as SAGs) held this past Sunday, February 27, also deserve our attention, specifically its red carpet; on which many stars stood out with great outfits. If what you are looking for is to be able to see the event in its entirety, you can find its broadcast on HBO Max, Amazon Fire and Apple TV, although if you do not have access to any of these payment platforms you can always inquire through the YouTube galleries where for sure will have already been posted.

As always, the evening had aspects in its favor and others that did not benefit its image, with the list of celebrities in charge of presenting and/or delivering the awards being one of the pros (Who wouldn't be lost in thought watching Lady Gaga or Cate Blanchett hand out trophies to movie royalty?); while to my amateur judgement it seems that many of these awards have ended up in the wrong hands (I think I speak for everyone when expressing my discontent with the fact that The House of Gucci, Dune, Tick, Tick… ​​Boom! and Don't look up came out without moving up from the category of nominees).

In the same way it has happened with the outfits presented by the actors of the moment, as some were worthy of admiration and others, frankly, should not have seen the light of day. Perhaps if Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt had shaken hands so amicably again as happened in 2020, the atmosphere in the Baker Hanger at the Santa Monica airport (where the gala has been held since 1996) would have adopted a more bracing environment. Still without reconcily handshakes from ex-marriages, Dolly Parton making the audience burst out in laughter, Betty White giving naughty winks about her sexual encounters with certain people in the public or Winona Ryder breaking the internet with her roller coaster of facial expressions as co-star David Harbour gives a heartfelt thank you speech. ; It is irrefutable that the SAGs always give a lot to talk about.

Opposing to my usual brutal criticism during argumentative texts, I will limit myself to reveal my five favorite outfits of the evening, in the hope not to further sink the world's depleted morale after the recent bellicose events. And since I am introducing changes, I take the opportunity to reverse my customary habit of leaving the best for last, so… Let's start with the jewel in the crown! Sleeping Beauty has finally awakened from her centuries-old reverie, shedding fairy-bashing dresses and lost tiaras for a new look that screams “self-sufficient queen” instead of “princess in need of saving.” So Elle Fanning has presented us with her most modern facet with a luxurious Italian suit from Gucci.

Coming to the end of the article I am forced to choose a final champion in this recap of clothing, which absolutely  devastating to me, since I must leave aside Nicole Kidman, Hoyeon Jung, Cate Blanchett, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Hudgens and my admired Helen Mirren; to make room for the latest recruit from the Marvel team: Hailee Steinfeld. Dressed in Miu Miu, the actress has dazzled (literally) with her amazing naturalness to melt the trend, with the revealing cutouts of her outfit, along with a timeless and neat aftertaste.
